TransGlobal Holdings is an international holdings firm with six subsidiary companies and multiple offices around the country. With over twenty years of experience, TransGlobal aims to serve Asians in the U.S. With its new 16,000 sq ft office in Monrovia, California, TransGlobal wanted to achieve a beautiful, modern and high-end aesthetic to represent the brand’s commitment to the highest quality of client care and attention.
“When I saw the office, I said to myself, ‘Wow, that’s a huge space. We need to find a good furniture vendor to work with,” says Yvonne Tung, Executive Vice President. “I knew that my boss [Philip Hu] wanted this new office to be a showroom, and we have a lot of high-end clients, so we wanted this place to be professional and to make his clients feel this is quite the company to work with.”
Tung discovered our firm through a web search and began with StrongProject’s budget tool as she undertook the new office design project.
“A particular point I like about the StrongProject website is the Budget Tool,” Tung says. “It gives me three levels to work with...that was the first thing I used because I wanted to let my boss know what the ballpark was.”
When the StrongProject team was brought on board to help design, furnish and install TransGlobal’s office, we approached the space with a focus on making it feel light and bright, with a muted palette so their signature green would “pop” and brighten each room.
In open-office areas, we created individualized working spaces and collaboration areas housing high quality desks, activity-based work surfaces, and task chairs. Each space included opaque white partial dividers, allowing light to reach all corners of the open-office area. For other collaboration rooms requiring sound privacy, glass doors and panels provided spaciousness and light without sacrificing confidentiality and security. In the center of the open-office space, we furnished white and neutral-tone acoustic seating and accessory tables. Stylish gray acoustic panels divided these larger areas to keep sound levels balanced. We also installed modular adjustable height workstations with innovative benching and storage systems that complemented TransGlobal’s brand color palette. These systems not only allowed individual employees a way to organize but also helped them intelligently adapt to using a smaller office footprint.
For internal offices, we preserved the spaciousness of each room by using beautiful glass-topped wood L-shape desks, complete with wood finish skirts. A matching meeting table and wall-mounted cabinetry completed the look. With TransGlobal’s training and meeting room, we wanted to ensure their staff would be comfortable through long meetings, so we made sure their task chairs included comfortable seating with breathable mesh backs. For reception, less was definitely more. TransGlobal is a bold, confident brand with a poised elegance, and we wanted to convey that first impression to visitors. We installed a contemporary reception desk that caught the eye and oriented guests, while maintaining a sleek minimalism. In the employee lounge and kitchen areas, long bar-height tables allowed as many as a few individuals to gather for lunch or could adapt for a community meal.
“I’ve worked with a lot of different vendors in different cities. StrongProject is very different,” Tung says. “Because the first thing they do is not recommend furniture to us but to understand what kind of business we’re in and what kind of office we’re going to have...when I work with StrongProject, I feel the professionalism they provide, I feel the passion from their staff, and I feel their products are incomparable.
